Leading at School: The Challenges
I wish there was just one main challenge for you, Educational Leader, I really do.
But we both know the list is seemingly infinte -
difficult behaviors, staffing + subbing shortages,
shifting targets, funding deficiencies, inefficient systems . . .
My guess is that you didn't sign up for all of that.
Instead, I bet the thing you *did* sign up for - what you originally set out to do was
make a difference
to impact lives & contribute positively to a society desperately in need.
That was true for me, at least. And if you're anything like me, then I see you.
I wish there was an easy answer; a magic wand, a quick fix for you - to make your "difference-making" work so much simpler. But I don't have that.
I don't know anyone who does, and I don't trust anyone who says they do.
What I do have -
and what is so vital for your classrooms, buildings & teams
- is encouragement and support in form of . . .
+ positive responses to challenging student (and staff!) behaviors
+ strength-based approaches to building resilience (for everyone)
+ encouraging support for engaging instruction
+ collaborative development of effective systems
. . . so you can lead your classrooms + teams towards a more collaborative,
encouraging & impactful school experience -
the kind that makes a difference.
